Vanessa Hudgens Tackles A New Role, As A Stripper

Well at least we all know she has the stripping thing down. In a clear lapse of any semblance of common sense Neil Patrick Harris has brought High School Musical alum Vanessa Hudgens on to play Mimi Marquez in his version of Rent. The production will run for several days at the Hollywood Bowl and Vanessa will be front and center playing the HIV-positive New York stripper with a heart of gold. Neil says he was incredibly impressed with the Hudge:

“She came in for a work session, and I must say, Vanessa really impressed. She looks amazing, has great vocal chops and seems really committed to honoring the somewhat iconic role of Mimi. I look forward to audiences seeing a dark, edgy and very different side of Vanessa Hudgens this August.”

Eh, I’m not quite sure if the chick who sang “We’re All in this Together” really has what it takes this role on, but awesome success or dismal failure (my money’s on the later), we can’t wait to see her try.
