Bar-Hopping Minister Gets Stripped
But trust me, it wasn’t in a good way. Pennsylvania minister Gregory Malia, who made a name for himself bar-hopping and gallivanting around New York City, dropping over $35,000 a night, has been stripped of his robes and kicked out of the Episcopal Diocese of Bethlehem, Pa. Church officials said that Gregory had “abandoned the communion of this church,” so they felt it only appropriate to show him the door. While the church may seem uber lame for kicking out perhaps the coolest clergy member ever, I kind of see where they were coming from.
Turns out Greg was arrested last summer for pulling out a gun in a Pennsylvania nightclub. What caused Greg to bust out the hardware? Well his daughters and another young woman got into an altercation and Greg wanted to make sure their boyfriends didn’t jump into the melee. So he whipped out the gun and pointed at the guys to ensure that his daughters would just duke it out themselves. Not such a great plan as he was hauled in for aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.
No word on how Greg is taking the news. Though something tells me he doesn’t really care and it’ll only be a matter of time before Greg hits up the bar again. Booze on my brother!
