Chuck E. Cheese Says No to Gangs

Apparently Chuck E. Cheese is a dangerous place nowadays. At least that’s what I’m to gather after a Chuck E. Cheese in Harlem decided to institute to a few new rules:

“No gang-style apparel, including but not limited to hats, shirts, buckles, bandanas, towels. No gang-type conduct or behavior, including verbal slogans, greetings, hand signs or intimidation. No weapons or tools or any sort whatsoever; including knives, chains, screwdrivers, glass cutters.”

Are you kidding? Is this a glorified kiddie playground or a nightclub? Chuck E. Cheese doesn’t really strike me as the hub of New York gang activity and some have come out in protest of the new rules, saying that they only help to reinforce stereotypes about the neighborhood. Regardless of what Chuck E. Cheese’s motivation was behind the new rules, I think that it is a little excessive to start scoping out the kiddie set for gang activity. The average age of Chuck E. Cheese visitors has got to be hovering around 6 or 7, so I really doubt that they’re prepared to shank anyone.

actually chuck e cheese is where the gangs around here (san jose) go to hang out , its not surprising since most of them 12-17 ,they have a place to eat pizza and play video games .
