Shaun White Hits The Ground Hard (Video!)
Shaun White may have been one of this weekend’s big winners at ESPN’s Winter X Games, but that doesn’t mean that he didn’t take some killer falls to get there. Shaun walked away with this year’s superpipe title, but he took a hellish spill during a practice run that almost knocked him out of the competition. Check out the video after the jump.
While attempting to practice a double-McTwist 1260 (if you don’t know what that is, it suffices to say that sh!t is difficult as hell!), Shaun hit the edge of the 22-foot pipe wall, knocking his helmet clear off his head, before sliding down to the ground below.
“I cracked my head pretty good. I was pretty dazed after that one. And it just set kind of a weird tone on that trick for the rest of the night. It was kind of lingering in the back of my mind. First thing I did was I ran up and did (the trick) again to make sure it didn’t put a weird complex in my mind.”
If at first you don’t succeed, I guess. Gotta give Shaun some props for heading back out there after that fall!
