Man Burns His Car After Trying to Thaw It Out With a Blow Heater!

Frost on your ride certainly gets on everyone’s nerves. But one man simply didn’t have the patience for whipping out the ice scraper. A 76-year-old German man decided what better way to efficiently and quickly rid his car of a little frost than to stick a blow heater underneath the hood. I think this might be one of those ideas that sounds good in theory and ends up being disastrous in reality.

The man left the blow heater right next to the windshield washer tank and went back inside his home. A few minutes later he heard two explosions and ran outside to check on his whip, only to find the car engulfed in flames. “He burned the vehicle out completely,” a police spokesperson said. After realizing the severity of the inferno that he had ignited, the man called the fire department, who were able to put out the blaze before it burned down his home.

Total damages to this dude’s car and the outside of his home? About $56,240. Well that’s a pretty steep price for being impatient.
