Jason Bourne, Please Come Back to Us

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been anxiously awaiting the return of Jason Bourne to the big screen. But our hopes may have been dashed as director Paul Greengrass has reportedly quit the project, possibly taking Jason Bourne himself along with him.

This story has been in the works for months, but has much less to do with the Bourne franchise and more with another Greengrass film called The Green Zone. The Iraq War thriller was supposed to be a small (and relatively) inexpensive way to tie Greengrass over in between the Bourne movies, but has spiraled into a $150 million pet project. Notorious for re-shooting and racking up fees like it’s his job (well, I guess it sort of is), Greengrass has apparently tried Universal’s patience and the two have parted ways, at least for now.

So how does this impact everyone’s favorite amnesiac? Matt Damon has expressed his loyalty to Greengrass, so speculation is that he could leave the project if Greengrass doesn’t hop back onboard the Bourne bandwagon.

I know where I stand here (bring on some more Bourne) But would another movie live up to the hype as the last two films?
