Jimmy Clausen Gets Knocked Out

Well it seems like Notre Dame is getting knocked around both on and off the field these days.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Fighting Irish quarterback and team captain Jimmy Clausen was punched in the face outside a South Bend, Indiana bar Saturday night. Clausen, his family and other Notre Dame players had gathered at the bar after losing their final home came to Connecticut in double-overtime.  Details, ATJ.

Clausen walked away with a black eye and there is no word on whether charges will be pressed. This just adds to the list of un-Tim Tebow like conduct that Clausen has racked up over the years.

The Tribune lists Clausen’s off-campus activities as follows:

“It is another in an assortment of off-field incidents involving Clausen that date to his first year on campus. He was cited in June 2007 for transporting alcohol as a minor. In August 2008, pictures appeared on the Web site “The Big Lead” depicting a not-yet-21 Clausen and three teammates at what the site labeled “Beer Olympics.”
