The Most Terrifying Anti-STD Ads

Trendhunter recently dredged up a new anti-AIDS initiative with the slogan (? maybe “ominous admonishment” is the word) “Every Time You Sleep With Someone, You Also Sleep With His Past.”  It has ads of guys and gals doing the million-year dance in various positions, but in each, one of the partners has like five sets of arms wrapped around his paramour.  Strangely, for the man/woman ad (above), the man has five sets of men’s arms, which is a little confusing.  Watch out, lady!  That guy’s all over the place.

Oddly, there is no “Her Past” equivalent.  And?  In each coupling, only one of the partners has the creepy mutant grope-arms.  I guess showing two sets of sexual-past-limbs intertwining would be too many arms.  Like a giant, ravenous AIDS octopus.  Though that could work better, message-wise.  Do you want the AIDS Octopus to get you?  Better wrap up!  But right now it’s just, “I had sex with a person with a more than normal amount of arms,” which is really just a good story to tell people.  In conclusion: more arms.

Yet though they’re creepy as clowns, these aren’t the scariest STD ads I’ve ever seen.  A set that made the rounds last year was 10x scarier.  Probably the most the f*cked up ads I’ve ever seen for anything, I definitely threw up in my mind.  Click through to see them, plus the rest from this series.  

These don’t even need a tagline – it’s implied.  ”AIDS: It’s Like Getting Eaten Out By a Giant Mutant Disgusting Spider.”  The fact that AIDS is actually kind of dissimilar from that experience (I’m guessing here, in both instances) is beside the point.  It’s really a theme you can run with: would you get a blowjob from a Venus Flytrap?  Then don’t get AIDS.  Would you let Hitler bend you over?  Then don’t get AIDS.  Would you let Scientology ride your face?  That is what AIDS feels like.  Wear a damn condom already.
