PETA Chicken Man Hands Out Blood-Soaked "Unhappy Meals" to Children

This new PETA “McCruelty” campaign against McDonald’s is really growing on me.  The snide anti-McD’s sobriquets they use are just so elegant in their simplicity: Happy Meal?  More like Unhappy Meal!  I’m lovin’ it?  More like I’m hatin’ it!  Chicken McNuggets?  More like Chicken McNugDON’Tgets!  Hamburglar?  More like Hamrapist!  Well, some of those, anyway.

Now PETA has taken to the streets to explain the moral failings and corporatized violence of our cosumerist society in a way kids can understand!

Children who buy meals at the McDonald’s at 391 Central Ave. today beginning at noon will encounter PETA staff, headed by an activist in a chicken costume.

The chicken man will be handing out Unhappy Meals.  Can you guess what’s in them?  

The “Unhappy Meal” that PETA will give to children – a spoof of a Happy Meal [thanks, local news outlet, for clearing this up]- will include a “menacing, knife-wielding” Ronald McDonald cutout, a ketchup packet disguised as chicken blood, a plastic chicken covered in “blood” and a “McCruelty” t-shirt.

I take your point, PETA, but I think it may be too subtle for kids to “get the message.”  Maybe next time try something a little more illustrative, like a picture of Ronald McDonald sodomizing a cow with the barrel of a shotgun, or grainy video footage of Grimace piloting a 747 into the World Trade Center.  The kids today see a lot of images, PETA!  You need to make yours count.

Or you could always just throw in a glossy 8″x11″ of Jenna Jameson hugging a chicken really tight.
