Vanity Fair Edits Sarah Palin's Resignation Letter

Vanity Fair edits Sarah Palin's Resignation Letter, (1).

For someone who had the potential to run the free world, it certainly seems like sexy soccer mom and former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin is a little rusty in the grammar and diction department.  The people at Vanity Fair magazine apparently took offense over Palin’s poorly crafted resignation letter and decided to give it a once over by sending it to their editing department.  The thing about editing is that there’s copy editing and fact checkers and they sent the letter to both.  The facts are dealt with in green ink and the massive grammar errors are in red ink.  As a writer, I understand that periodically a typo or spelling error can occur, but it’s pretty much appalling how much editing is done.  There are so many green notes that I’m guessing at some point she might as well have made up what happened, or at least gotten creative and talked about the magical elves that steal her panties, which have forced her to resign.  She’s either the dumbest person on Earth or the people at Vanity Fair hate her.  I’m guessing it’s a little bit of both.

Is a fucking PDF too much to ask for?

  2. Polly Ticks says:

    But look how it’s addressed. It’s a speech/”remarks”, not a formal letter.

  3. Jen says:

Give me a freaking break. When do the attacks stop?

    IT is a TRANSCRIPT

  4. j0k3r says:

I agree Jen, when did it become okay to make fun of retarded people? This is an outrage!!

  5. Jaymi says:

I usually like this site but seriously, this is not a letter, it is a transcript. Several of the “corrections” in this letter are wrong or unnecessary as well. Obviously you dislike Sarah Palin enough to look over the actual facts of what this so-called letter of resignation is. This is not her actual written resignation. Grow up.

  6. Kevin says:

Transcript, not rough draft therefore it was publicaly spoken – and she’s not a good speaker.

  7. j0k3r says:

You morons sticking up for her do know she did issue this as her letter of resignation, right? This is almost word-for-word what was posted in her executive column:

    http://gov.state.ak.us/exec-column.php

I’d bang her, but I don’t want her legislating anything.
