Gay Penguin Relationship Ruined By a Woman

Some daytime-TV stuff is going down in the penguin enclosure at the San Francisco Zoo.  Harry and Pepper, two guy penguins, had been palling around together for about six years as a “nesting couple”:

Male penguins Harry and Pepper had been so content together they were allowed to incubate and hatch an egg laid by another Magellanic penguin last year, zookeeper Anthony Brown said.

“Of all of the parents that year, they were the best. They took very good care of their chick.”

But there was trouble in gay penguin paradise…  

Linda, a recently widowed lady penguin, decided she had had enough of all the single ladies, so she set out to turn Harry and persuade him to leave his gay bliss behind:

“To be completely anthropomorphizing, Linda seems conniving,” Brown said. “She’s got her plan. I don’t think she was wanting to be a single girl for too long.”

After the mating season, however, couples often get reshuffled.  Only time will tell if the straight life is for Harry.  Pepper, meanwhile, has been nesting with Gari, a personal trainer from West Hollywood.
