The Michael Jackson Saga: Bubbles the Pet Chimpanzee Speaks

All the supporting players in the surreal Michael Jackson life-play are coming out of the woodwork now to get theirs. Uri Geller, a q-side celebrity in Britain who has the power to bend spoons with his mind (aliens granted it to him, apparently), has rattled off a whole host of Jackson problems and secrets, from his doctor-assisted drug use to his secret girlfriend (hmm).

But perhaps most noteworthy is the new interview in which Bubbles, MJ’s chimapanzee friend, finally breaks the silence. Details and video interview with Bubbles the chimpanzee, after the fame… after the jump.

As for Geller, his allegations are pretty damning, and that much more so because he has the psychic powers to know their truth.

Michael had been sedated the night before and just wouldn’t wake up. Uri went into his room – and was screaming at Michael. MJ, he says, was surrounded by sycophants and money-grubbing doctors, who set him on a cycle of uppers and downers.

We were worried. We were shaking him, saying: “Come on – wake up.” Uri was saying: “What are you doing? Have you taken something?” Then he came round drowsy – and said he was jetlagged. He came round, but not enough to take him to the zoo. Uri had to make up an excuse for him….

The cocktail of drugs left Jacko so weak he regularly slept for DAYS at a time and missed important business meetings. Disgusted Matt said:

The doctors would change every few months – but there was always one there who would often claim just to be a friend.

It went two ways with what they did with Michael. Either he’d be totally sedated or they’d give him something which would make him incredibly high.

Three more curious details: Jackon would stay in his room for days at a time watching The Simpsons and listening to Britney Spears. Of the supposed girlfriend: “He had his own way of dealing with that – and that unfortunately gave people the wrong impression.”

Bubbles had no comment on that, specifically, as he and MJ had a falling out back in the late ’80s when Bubbles got too big. Says CNN:

“Jackson and Bubbles lived together and dressed alike.” Since 2005, he has lived at an animal sanctuary in Florida (he is 26).

Sadly, “Jackson never came to visit Bubbles.”
