The Meghan McCain Movie With Hilary Duff: F-Listed Casts the Leads

Meghan McCain, daughter of John, is writing a book about her life on the campaign trail in 2008. But you wouldn’t know it from talking to her! The “book” part seems to be more of a formality along the happy yellow road to Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Republican Sisterhood Starring Meghan McCain (starring Hilary Duff), a movie that will be released in… I’ll wager spring 2012, just in time for the next presidential primaries. It’s a story about life, love, and the pursuit of cute guys! (Alternate title He’s Just Not That Into You: My Childhood as John McCain’s Daughter was nixed for obvious reasons.)
“It’s half political, and it’s half a memoir,” said the 24-year-old. “It’s like ‘Primary Colors’ meets Tori Spelling’s ’s ‘Tori Telling.’ I want young women to actually be able to read it.”
Obviously there will need to be a Secret Service love interest and plenty of dish seshes with Bridget at Dairy Queen. Hilary Duff has been handpicked to play Meghan, and Bradley Cooper has been eyed as a possible actor to be in the movie for no reason. More details, plus my picks for the lead characters:
“I want Hilary Duff to play me. I think she’s really hot – hotter than me – but I’d still want her to play me,”Sen. John McCain’s daughter confided to us at the Trevor Project’s summer gala on Monday night at Capitale.
But the young Republican isn’t dead set on Duff. “Really, I’d take anyone who’s blond,” she joked, adding that one actor in particular would certainly be welcome to join the cast. “Bradley Cooper is so hot,” McCain swooned. “If he can be in it, he will. I’m obsessed with [his film] ‘The Hangover!’”
“He can play, uh, Barack Obama!” Meghan also added that she just finished the Sarah Palin chapter of her book (will she be cast as 1) BFF, 2) mentor, or 3) totally jealous of all the attention Meghan McCain was getting? Pick up a copy today!). Finally,
I did not get along with the Secret Service, so it’s good that I’m not living [in the White House]. You know those Disney movies [where princesses are always well guarded]? Life in the White House is just like that, except there were no cute guards. Seriously, none of them were cute at all!”
Here are some pics of, on the left, Meghan McCain with a floppy hat, and on the right, Hilary Duff with a floppy hat. I could see it. Also, who should play Meghan’s adopted Bangladeshi sister Bridget McCain, as well as John McCain.
