New Fiat Ads Perpetuate the Stereotype That Pandas Are Bad Drivers

What is the best way to save the manatees? Get them behind the wheel of brand-new Fiat 500. I think that’s more or less the takeaway with Fiat’s newest ad effort, which trumpets that the car is “engineered for a lower impact on the environment.” The accompanying images are of various beasts and fowl driving Fiats into crash-test barriers.

Nutty pictures after the jump. But first, a joke. Q: Why did the panda crash into the lion? A. Because she needed to get to T.J. Maxx before the sale on kids’ pajamas ended, so she was speeding while applying her makeup in the rearview mirror and texting Linda a pie recipe. This joke brought to you by Volkswagen.

The walrus, however, crashed because animals can’t drive. But a 0.24 BAC didn’t help his case!
