America’s Best Ever Party in America Ever!!

Correction: oops, last week I called the end of the recession too early.  It is still the recession.  FYI.  But that doesn’t mean you can’t party like America is a big creaky steamboat gently slipping under the waves of globalization and a post-Western world economy!

In fact, one man decided to lose his job in the recession and write a book about the best party in America everrrr. (!)  Is it Mardi Gras?  Vegas New Year’s?  Flag Day?  Nope, it is…

I don’t know.  But – noted party expert Micheal Guerriero did list his top 5 for CNN.

“I never would have written this book if I hadn’t gotten laid off,” said Guerriero. “And getting up in the morning has become much more fun. I’m more excited about the prospects for my future than I ever was working for a big company.”

His top party picks: Buffalo’s World’s Largest Disco; South Dakota’s Sturgis motorcycle rally; The Lebowski Fest in Louisville, Ky.; New Orleans’ Jazz Festival; and the world’s largest bike parade in his hometown Ft. Collins, Colo.

He had previously worked for Merck Pharmaceuticals, so one can guess he probably knew a thing or two about partying already.  Especially because he was let go in March of 2008.  Which was less likely a time of recession cutbacks and more likely a time of someone keeps pinching OxyContin from the break room cutbacks.
