Mexican Surfers Know How To Party

Mexican Surfers use their surfboards for more than surfing.

Mexican surfers have partying on the brain, but just not like you’d think.  They’ve been caught trying to smuggle drugs into the US on their surfboards.

To hear the details keep reading after the jump>>>

In what sounds like a storyline from the Showtime series Weeds, multiple surfers have been caught by the U.S. Border Patrol trying to smuggle marijuana into the United States from Mexico by paddeling it on their surfboards into the U.S.  In case you were wonder, they had 141 pounds of marijuana attached to their surfboard.  That must have been an incredible amount of waterproof tape used to attach the ganja to that surfboard.

The L.A. Times reports:

After agents spotted the pair, a helicopter put a high-power searchlight on them about 200 yards off the coast. The men, ages 27 and 30, admitted being Mexican nationals trying to enter the U.S. illegally, the Border Patrol said. The pot was valued at $84,600.

This wasn’t the firsttime a Mexican national has been arrested for trying to smuggle drugs into the U.S. in this way, earlier this month a 30-year-old Mexican man was detained after being caught surfing with drugs towards the U.S.  First there were drugs stuffed sharks and now surfing drug mules.  What’s next?
