The Second Coming Of Short Circuit

After reporting earlier this week that the Alien franchise will add another movie to it’s repertoire, I can also report that Short Circuit will also be reworked for modern audiences.

To hear all the details about the plans for Johnny 5 keep reading>>>Dimension films has obtained the rights to the 1986 cult classic Short Circuit and plans to remake it.  However, instead of rehiring new writers they’ve rehired the original writers S.S Wilson & Brent Maddock, and plan to keep the same general themes of the first movie, but update it to be current with the ongoings in technology.  Sounds alright, right?

Honestly, who knows?  Hiring the same writers means they might actually try to salvage the remake instead of churning out a total piece of crap.  Then again, it could mean that the writers are too closely tied to the project and will screw it up by refusing to be flexible when it comes to their original vision, or something.  I honestly just want to see a really good movie that is totally original.  Is that too much to ask?  What do you guys think?
