There Will Be Drugs: Scott Weiland’s Estranged Wife Publishing a Memoir

Drug-battered comeback wizard Scott Weiland, frontman of the Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, will be the latest victim of having an estranged wife with bipolar disorder and a fresh memoir.

Mary Forsberg plans to publish her memoir, Fall to Pieces, in October (09).

In a press release, the tome is described as a “visceral, rollercoaster ride inside bipolar disorder, rock ‘n’ roll, celebrity culture, and the competitive world of modeling from a rock star wife and recovering drug addict.

Probably most of the memoir will not be about her, though, if I had to guess.  The two split last year after a “fight in a Burbank, California, hotel room.”  So rock!  The book also has…

“Weiland’s story [at this point in the press release, no one's even pretending that this is The Mary Forsberg Story] offers a window into the world of modeling and rock ‘n’ roll celebrity while providing deep insights into a serious and misunderstood psychological disorder.”

Weiland currently tours with the Stone Temple Pilots, after being kicked out of Velvet Revolver in 2008, after being kicked out of STP in 2003.  And he also has bipolar disorder!  So it must have been an exciting marriage for both of them.

Here’s the video for “Fall to Pieces,” which features both Weiland and Forsberg.

Scott Weiland kicks ass! It’s no secret he had a wee bit of a drug problem when with STP, as did most rock bands during what I believe to be the most awesome period in rock history (early to mid 90’s). Say what you will but he still represents to me everything a rockstar and rock music should be. It’s either that or listening to the clean, over produced crap they market as rock today aka Jonas Brothers/Fall Out Girls.
