Heidi and Spencer Threaten to Leave "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" Because They Are Too Famous
Special ops gossip reporters stationed in the Costa Rican jungle have been relaying a steady stream of breaking developments from the Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag front. They’re filming I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! which is a show that lets audiences vote on different jungle-themed challenges they’d like to condemn q-list celebs to.
It is difficult for me to believe that any human could say the things Spencer says in seriousness; it would be a strong argument against both evolution and the existence of God. So I’ll assume he’s being self-parodying when he lets fly, “I’m at wit’s end, living in the jungle with a bunch of non-celebrities… There’s one team: Heidi and Spencer versus all you nobodies.”
“I wish they got some real celebrities like K-Fed,” said Montag.
These people are unheralded comedic geniuses. But just a few days into filming the show, they were ready to pack up and leave:
The cast arrived in San Jose, Costa Rica on Wednesday, May 27 and Speidi has made sure to make their presence known.
The duo verbally protested the calibre of celebrity in the cast which includes actors Stephen Baldwin and Lou Diamond Phillips, TV host Janice Dickinson and former basketball player John Salley, among others.
But they love Janice! They love, love Janice, and they tell America to vote for her after they leave. Which is too bad for Janice. Sort of like if Osama bin Laden had made a tape of himself urging Americans to vote for Barack Obama.
Anyway, the two apparently thought they would be hanging out with real celebrities at the Four Seasons. It’s unclear how they failed to grasp even the most basic tenets of the show – perhaps the secretary who deals with their reality show requests thought it would be a hilarious prank on them to mischaracterize the nature of it? Apparently it took a call from an NBC VP to convince Heidi and Spencer to stay on the show.
I recommend a listen to their audio clips on Ryan Seacrest’s blog. Spencer keeps saying “We’re celebrities” like how children believe that if you chant “Bloody Mary” three times, she will become real.
First episode airs tonight at 8 Eastern on NBC.
