ATL Rapper Dolla Killed in L.A.

The rapper Dolla, who had generated a lot of hype for his forthcoming debut album A Dolla & a Dream, was shot dead outside a mall in Los Angeles yesterday. He had been waiting on the valet with DJ Shabbazz and Scrapp DeLeon, when two people, thought to be a man and a woman, gunned him down. He was 21.
Before his death, he had signed to Akon’s Konvict Music Records, and had a Top 100 hit, “Who the F*ck Is That?” with T-Pain. Evidently the rapper had been trailed by the two suspects before his slaying. Police tracked down one of them at LAX:
“As the officers approached the suspect, they asked him ‘Do you know why we’re here?’ ” airport police spokesman Sgt. Jim Holcomb told the AP. “He put his [hands] up in the air and said, ‘Yes, I’ve got a gun in my waistband. Don’t shoot me.’ ” Police recovered a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun from Berry, who is reportedly being held on $1 million bail.
It’s really about time for this sort of bullsh*t to stop happening, you know?

no matter wht kinda of music it is..they dnt deserve to be gunned down! people have families..so tht was a very ignorant comment to make. i read tht man takes care of his family and was actually a good man regardless tht he was a rapper not a gangsta rapper.

What!? A rapper shot?! I don’t believe it. I understand the violence associated with Country & Western and Radio Disney…but Jesus…you never think it would trickle over into the rap/hip-hop community. I going to go pay homage to him by sampling music from actual musicians, over a beatbox.

Gee, this is a real surprise and such a (gag, gag, gag) tragedy, another Rapper shot and killed. Maybe it’s the Gangsta lifestyle and the fact that RAP Music SUCKS! Did he have connections with B.I.G. and his old homeboys? Life Sucks, Rap Music makes it worse. WORD!
Id love to have some sympathy, but when the guy is releasing songs called “Who the F*ck Is That?”, you cant try and tell me he was promoting love and harminy in the community. I have nothing against Rap artists if they are acting like roll-models and incouraging people to act with respect, but was he like that? I could be wrong mind. The guy could have been a decent guy. But going by most of the new rappers coming out of America, with attitudes and promoting gangs, weapons, violence and fast cars… id find it hard to believe he was different. Id also find it hard to believe it was a random shooting. The people would have known him, or him driving around in some modded car, flashing his cash probably got their attention.
