Joe Biden: “The Chamber of Secrets is Open!”

At the annual Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, where media and political elites gather to tell jokes and tickle each other in the pants, Joe Biden dramatically flung open the door to the secret vice presidential lair where Lord Voldemort hid in the wake of the September 11 attacks, shouting, “Tear up the planks!  Here!  Here!  It is the beating of his hideous heart!”  More or less, that’s what happened. 

According to Clift’s report on the Newsweek blog, Biden “said a young naval officer giving him a tour of the residence showed him the hideaway, which is behind a massive steel door secured by an elaborate lock with a narrow connecting hallway lined with shelves filled with communications equipment.”

Clift continued: “The officer explained that when Cheney was in lock down, this was where his most trusted aides were stationed, an image that Biden conveyed in a way that suggested we shouldn’t be surprised that the policies that emerged were off the wall.”

In 2002, neighbors of the VP residence complained of loud construction work, but at the time, they were silenced by Cheney’s Death Eaters.

Biden then addressed terrorists directly, challenging, “That’s right, it’s right under my house.  Why don’t you come over here and do something about it?”
