Priest Sex Scandal Is Basically a Telemundo Soap Opera

The Rev. Alberto Cutie knew what he was doing was wrong.  It would dishonor his religion, betray his fans, and bring his mother tears, yet he could not stop his passion.  A beloved young priest with a terrible secret.  A beautiful woman with dark, mysterious eyes.  A tempestuous love affair on the sand.  A mischievous peasant boy and his wisecracking donkey sidekick.  It could only end in tragedy. 

Or not really, I guess, since the guy is no longer allowed to be a priest, but on the other hand, he does have this hot girlfriend now.  After photos were published of the pair in TV Notas magazine, Padre Alberto, who had written a best-selling advice book and appeared on TV and the radio often, was defrocked.  He said that, for his part, he had been defrocking this woman for several years, but that she was the only woman he had ever defrocked.

“I don’t support the breaking of the celibacy promise,” Cutie said. “I understand fully that this is wrong.

“I don’t want to be the anti-celibacy priest. I think that’s unfortunate,” he said. “I think it’s a debate that’s going on in our society, and now I’ve become kind of a poster boy for it. But I don’t want to be that. I believe that celibacy is good, and that it’s a good commitment to God. This is something I’ve struggled with. And something that I never expected to become a public debate.”

But it felt so right.
