Emily Blunt Gets The Boot From Iron Man 2!

Iron Man director, Jon Favreau, told E! on the red carpet that Emily Blunt was officially out of the running for portraying comic-book villainess, Natasha Romanov aka. the Black Widow.

Blunt ran into a scheduling conflict when 20th Century Fox activated their option on her to star in Gulliver’s Travels, which will be filming this summer at the same time as Iron Man.  The option was initially apart of Blunt’s Devil Wear’s Prada Contract.  Clearly, there is a devil and he means to screw up Iron Man 2.

Last week, word on the street was Scarlett Johansson was in talks to replace Blunt as Black Widow, but that sounds like a terrible idea.  Johansson would make a terrible Black Widow, but that’s Hollywood.  Casting a big budget movie with a bug budget name just to garner more big name recognition, but at the expense of the character’s integrity.

In addition, Dollhouse’s Eliza Dushku attempted to put herself in the running to play the Black Widow while on the Howard Stern Show last week.  She sent a plea out to the public asking them to support her bid to take over the role.  I am not sure that’s going to do much, but she seems like a much better fit for Black Widow.  Sadly, I am not sure she has the acting chops to pull it off.  I guess well have to wait and see who gets casted.  Which leaves me to ask, who you think would make a great Black Widow?  Leave your opinions in the comments.
