“Lebron v. Kobe Show” Not Just About Stars’ Firepower

Late into the night last night, Jack Nicholson sat giddy on the sideline as his Lakers were able to hold Lebron James, and the Cavaliers, at bay. Lebron shot just 36% for 23 points. Kobe had 20 points, shooting 41% from the field. Both of their #’s were mediocre by comparison, but the game was not.

Everyone’s favorite storyline: Lebron & Kobe guarding each other, all game. It is so interesting to watch the two go at it like that. Supposedly, the two requested to guard one another and I think it slowed them down on offense. Whenever they were on defense, they were both forced to respect the other’s game and get a taste of their own sweet medicine.

Lebron stole the ball 4 times from the Lakers and showed a swagger on the court that even surpasses his stature. Kobe showed leadership and his passing ability has he wheeled around the court and lead his team to victory, even with a dislocated finger. Both players seemed to be grimacing or acting as though they were being roughed up all game. (Whining)

Of the players on the court, Pau Gasol gets the game ball.  His shots were almost as impressive as Lebron and Kobe’s, but his dominance on the boards and 11 for 13 mark are the playmanship that wins awards.

The Lakers came out on top, but I’m sure that most people that were in attendance at LA’s Staples Center might not remember the score of the game, but they will remember the shots, the play, and especially the matchup.

LJ played so hard in this game, you could tell he wanted to put on a show. I think he tried to do to much. He had a couple of great steals though.

Kobe had a bad first half, but did some good stuff in the second half despite his finger injury.

Without Delonte West and Iggy…the Cav’s were not at full strength.

Fun game though, first half was great.
