Grey’s Anatomy Brings Adult Entertainment to Fashion Mainstream

Long gone are the days where the names of adult film actresses were to only be mentioned as a whisper in back rooms of video stores across the country.
See what I mean in 3…2…1…
Now we see Tera Patrick gracing the pages of Blackbook and FHM magazines, and Jenna Jameson’s pregnancy being covered by E! News, their names and career choices openly discussed in the mainstream media. Even us here at F-Listed had the opportunity to interview adult sensation, Jesse Jane, star of the biggest adult film franchise ever made.
One of last year’s most eye-raising adult cross-overs into mainstream media was when Hollywood director Steven Soderbergh (“Pleasantville”, “Good Night and Good Luck”) actively sought out porn actress Sasha Grey to star as the lead in one of his next film projects. The 20-year-old will star in Soderbergh’s “The Girlfriend Experience,” a film about about the life of a high-price escort.
But Sasha’s mainstream exposure didn’t stop there. She was most recently featured in a racy ad campaign for minimalist clothing manufacturer, American Apparel. In the ad, Sasha models yellow thigh-high socks fully naked, her nipples, and yes, even part of her carpet, exposed.
The ad has since ruffled many feathers, with critics and feminists saying it’s too bringing too much attention to sex and framing women as sexual objects. This is where you boys and girls come in. How do you feel about the ad?
Personally speaking, I can understand those we think society is being oversexualized, but at the same time I think some individuals just like to b!tch about everything and anything. So long as the ad doesn’t air during time slots when my little brother is watching The Suite Life of Zack & Cody or Hannah Montana on Disney, I don’t care. If anything, I’d like Hanna Montana to not air during that time slot, too. At least Sasha Grey isn’t bullsh!ting us!
Check out the uncensored very NSFW American Apparel ad, featuring a nude Sasha Grey, here and here and here. Some more frisky American Apparel ads this way…
