Death of a Sex Kitten: Eartha Kitt Dies at 81

You may have heard by now that legendary songstress Eartha Kitt passed away yesterday, after battling colon cancer.  She was 81.

Earth was most famous playing Catwoman in the 1960s Batman TV series. She was a Daytime Emmy winner and was also nominated for a slew of Tony Awards.

The South Carolina-born singer/actress of African-American, Cherokee Indian, German, and Dutch descent, was also famous for her 1953 Christmas song, “Santa Baby,” a personal favorite of mine. I can honestly say that I’ve pranced around my house in nothing but my lacy panties and stilettos to that song many a time.

In honor of the singer and sultry ways, here is her legendary track “Santa Baby.”  It’s such a wonderful song, and her voice is just perfectly sexy and angelic all at once. May she rest in peace.
