Name: Leighton Meester
Background: Most famous for her role in Gossip Girl, the most buzzed about show on television right now, the Texas native was born in jail while her mother served time for drug related crimes
Where you know her from: Aside from GG, the 22-year-old has acted in House, 24, 30 Rock and most recently Entourage. Leighton also plans on releasing an album in 2009.
About high school:
“I went through so many phases in high school that I can’t say exactly what my style was. A combination of just rolling out of bed and going to class and kind of defying my femininity by wearing sweatshirts with holes in them, never wearing heels or skirts. Also, all black almost all the time. I dyed it every color. I dyed it fire engine red and that didn’t work out. It also had it black and red streaks.”
Rising up the ranks: Earlier today FHM appointed Leighton the No. 1 position as Fall TV’s Hottest Star.
