Amy Winehouse Rocks the Grammy’s

Amy Winehouse might not have attended the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles as first intended, but that didn’t stop her from rocking the award show.

Not only did Wino take home five awards- including best new artist, song of the year, and record of the year – the rehabbed singer also rocked live-via-satellite at 3:41 a.m. from London.

If you haven’t seen her performance yet, you really ought to. As insensitive as it may sound, I laughed the entire time.

In truth, her performance wasn’t the best and the girl has no rhythm whatsoever, but she should be praised just for having the balls to get on stage and sticking it out no matter how nervous she was.

This is probably the first time Amy performs sober in the longest time, and unlike Britney who didn’t take her comeback serious, Amy deserves props for taking her recovery seriously.

Of her five wins Amy said, “I can’t believe I’ve won five awards. It’s a shame I couldn’t be there to accept the awards but I’m so proud and happy that I had the opportunity to perform for the Grammys in my hometown of London with my family and friends around me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

You should see her reaction when she gets the award for song of the year. That sh*t made me cry. Literally. The look on her face and the way she clings to her mom… let’s hope she makes it in the end.

This is just further proof that music is dead. Did the 60’s ever happen? The end of anti-trust legislation preventing giant conglomerates from controlling the music industry has led us here. It’s really sad that this phony corporate crap aimed at the lowest common denominator of the listening public now controls the music industry. There are no artists anymore, just product aimed at what ever the boys in marketing say will sell.

I’m believe the reason right-wing talk radio is so successful now a-days is because there is no decent music played on the radio anymore. People would rather hear innane babble as opposed to simplistic jingles set to jungle rythyms.
