"So here’s 'the truth' according to the latest reports, and not some buzz people printed without waiting to hear whether or not the reports were accurate."

And then you go an to list this supposed "truth" as speculation from taken from another source. deary, speculation does not equal facts.

You're no better than the folks publishing unpleasant things about the man before they know for sure. Just because you're trying to be nice, doesn't mean you automatically have the facts.

And then to say "if this man was some drug-addicted asshole (Lindsay Lohan) most of us probably wouldn’t care as much." That is RIDICULOUS, not to mention very mean.

Heath, like Lindsay, had a history of drugs abuse. Oh, you're speculative truths hadn't informed you of that? Heath Ledger's death was tragic. If the same happened to Lindsay it would also be tragic.

Be careful - being the judge is a precarious position.

BTW, you left out Jack Nicholson's comment:

"I warned him."

I beg to differ, the impact of his death is absolutely no different then Lindsay Lohan's impact. It speaks not to any true sorrow for his passing, but it is...exactly like Lindsay Lohan obsesssion... simply the faux sentiment of emotionally detached people, who will type their few lines of phony sorrow and then scroll down to see who Paris Hilton is f*cking this week. If Lindsay Lohan died of a drug overdose, it would merely be this crap time ten.

I don't agree with with it, and I'm not slandering him, I only speaking the truth. He was a second rate movie actor that showed no responsibility in any way in his life, just like LL, BS, PH and everyone of these twits. He didn't give a shit about his own life, let alone yours or anyone elses. I hope he enjoyed his buzz before he choked on his own vomit.

Jamman,

In case you aren’t aware, YOU are not the center of the universe. Simply because you weren’t a fan of his films, doesn’t mean those films didn’t touch the lives of others.

Yes, “10 Things I Hate About You” was a silly film, but I was a young girl when that came out and it was a favorite of mine.

Second, as a female who has many gay friends, I can say with great confidence that “Brokeback Mountain” had a huge impact on Americans, whether or not you fail to realize is that is your own story.

And lastly, yes, you are right, there are others that deserve equal amounts of attention following their passing, if not even more attention. But the fact remains if this man was some drug-addicted asshole (Lindsay Lohan) most of us probably wouldn’t care as much. But the impact of his death should prove that he DID touch the lives of many.

And even if you don’t agree with that, there’s no need to slander him. He’s gone. Don’t f*ck with the dead.

What's remarkable to me is the tremendous amount of phony angst on display over the death of this supporting actor. 10 Things was a smaltzy over the top performance in a light-weight second-rate teen dramedy, Brokeback was in the sweetspot for the pro-gay politics of the Hollywood crowd, every other movie he made was second rate, with the exception of the Brothers Grimm and A Knight's Tale which were both in the Jesus this is Crap category. And while this egostical, pompous, pampered heroin addicted child laid around Mahattan doing drugs estranged from his wife and daughter, thousands of truly heroic men worthy of our sorrow have died in the sands of the middle east hoping to prevent planes from being flown into the concrete canyons that were the drug-haunts of this shallow efette self-loathing loser.

There are other fatherless children, and truly loving mothers in grief across our country that truly deserve our compassion and support before the wasted addict does.

So goes another stain on the sidewalk. Bye bye.
