Ledger’s Death Ruled An Accident

Ledger’s Death Ruled An Accident

By now most of you know about Heath Ledger’s sad and untimely death. However, several sites have gone around plastering every single rumor heard surrounding his passing.

And while this is a gossip site, and not exactly The New York Times, I did study journalism in college and I refuse to put up lies about someone who isn’t around to defend his own reputation. So here’s “the truth” according to the latest reports, and not some buzz people printed without waiting to hear whether or not the reports were accurate.

Heath Ledger’s death has been ruled an accident, and not a suicide, according to TMZ.

It is speculated the sleeping pills he took may have had an adverse reaction to his regular medication. He was found laying face-up on his bed (not face-down on the floor) and there weren’t pills “scattered” around the apartment as first said. Pills were found in the medicine chest (you know, where they are supposed to be) and his sleeping pills and anti-anxiety pills were on the nightstand.

Ledger’s ex-fiancee Michelle Williams was on location in Sweden when he was pronounced dead. It was believed their 2-year-old daughter Matilda was with her at the time.

It should come of no shock that “she’s devastated” by the news and that “words cannot describe” the emotions she’s feeling at the present time. Reports say her and Matilda are on their way to NYC today.

Heath received both Golden Globe and Oscar nods for his role in the 2006 revolutionary film “Brokeback Mountain.” Prior to that, the actor broke onto the scene with the 1999 comedic hit “10 Things I Hate About You” (a personal favorite of mine).

Also, the actor portrays the classic role of the Joker in the latest Batman flick titled “The Dark Knight,” which is currently in post-production. He’d been in London last week filming “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.”

On a personal note, while it’s sad to learn of his passing, I find it somewhat comforting to learn that he had such a great impact on all our lives. Many of my friends felt affected by his death, as well as much of Hollywood and regular folks like you and I.

We may not have known him, but he seemed to be a kind soul with a beautiful outlook on life who loved the art of film and wanted to share his passion and talents with us all. It takes a lot of courage to put yourself out there like that, and I admire him personally for that.

Rest in peace, Heath. You lead a fruitful life and we will always remember you.

UPDATE: Heath was recently quoted as saying, “I feel good about dying because I feel alive through [Matilda].” Holy crap, I think I’m crying now.

Also, the initial autopsy proved inconclusive, reports CNN.

What’s remarkable to me is the tremendous amount of phony angst on display over the death of this supporting actor. 10 Things was a smaltzy over the top performance in a light-weight second-rate teen dramedy, Brokeback was in the sweetspot for the pro-gay politics of the Hollywood crowd, every other movie he made was second rate, with the exception of the Brothers Grimm and A Knight’s Tale which were both in the Jesus this is Crap category. And while this egostical, pompous, pampered heroin addicted child laid around Mahattan doing drugs estranged from his wife and daughter, thousands of truly heroic men worthy of our sorrow have died in the sands of the middle east hoping to prevent planes from being flown into the concrete canyons that were the drug-haunts of this shallow efette self-loathing loser.

There are other fatherless children, and truly loving mothers in grief across our country that truly deserve our compassion and support before the wasted addict does.

So goes another stain on the sidewalk. Bye bye.

  2. Jamman,

In case you aren’t aware, YOU are not the center of the universe. Simply because you weren’t a fan of his films, doesn’t mean those films didn’t touch the lives of others.

Yes, “10 Things I Hate About You” was a silly film, but I was a young girl when that came out and it was a favorite of mine.

Second, as a female who has many gay friends, I can say with great confidence that “Brokeback Mountain” had a huge impact on Americans, whether or not you fail to realize is that is your own story.

And lastly, yes, you are right, there are others that deserve equal amounts of attention following their passing, if not even more attention. But the fact remains if this man was some drug-addicted asshole (Lindsay Lohan) most of us probably wouldn’t care as much. But the impact of his death should prove that he DID touch the lives of many.

And even if you don’t agree with that, there’s no need to slander him. He’s gone. Don’t f*ck with the dead.

I beg to differ, the impact of his death is absolutely no different then Lindsay Lohan’s impact. It speaks not to any true sorrow for his passing, but it is…exactly like Lindsay Lohan obsesssion… simply the faux sentiment of emotionally detached people, who will type their few lines of phony sorrow and then scroll down to see who Paris Hilton is f*cking this week. If Lindsay Lohan died of a drug overdose, it would merely be this crap time ten.

I don’t agree with with it, and I’m not slandering him, I only speaking the truth. He was a second rate movie actor that showed no responsibility in any way in his life, just like LL, BS, PH and everyone of these twits. He didn’t give a shit about his own life, let alone yours or anyone elses. I hope he enjoyed his buzz before he choked on his own vomit.

“So here’s ‘the truth’ according to the latest reports, and not some buzz people printed without waiting to hear whether or not the reports were accurate.”

And then you go an to list this supposed “truth” as speculation from taken from another source. deary, speculation does not equal facts.

You’re no better than the folks publishing unpleasant things about the man before they know for sure. Just because you’re trying to be nice, doesn’t mean you automatically have the facts.

And then to say “if this man was some drug-addicted asshole (Lindsay Lohan) most of us probably wouldn’t care as much.” That is RIDICULOUS, not to mention very mean.

Heath, like Lindsay, had a history of drugs abuse. Oh, you’re speculative truths hadn’t informed you of that? Heath Ledger’s death was tragic. If the same happened to Lindsay it would also be tragic.

Be careful – being the judge is a precarious position.

BTW, you left out Jack Nicholson’s comment:

    “I warned him.”
