Badass Chick Of The Day: Katrina ‘Combat Barbie’ Hodge

Katrina, a former Miss England, is heading off to Afghanistan to serve her country … and obviously serve it well. She had this to say about the transition from beauty queen to utter badassness:

“I’m not going to lie, it was hard to come back. It’s definitely a change of lifestyle from having your hair and make-up done every day to being in your combats and having your hair scraped back.”

“At the end of the day, it’s my job. If that’s what you’ve got to do, then that’s what you’ve got to do. It’s hard to be excited about Afghanistan but it’s the reality of our job.”

All I can say is wow. Beauty and bravery is one hell of a combination.
