LeBron James Gets Axed From Empire State Of Mind
…And the LeBron James hatred continues to chug along. While it definitely seems a little excessive to still be on the LeBron hateration bandwagon, we must admit that one Ohio radio station’s treatment of The King was pretty creative. Find out about LeBron becoming the eighth word you can’t say on the radio after the jump.
So you know that line in Jay-Z‘s “Empire State of Mind” when he talks about “[if] Jeezy’s paying LeBron, I’m paying Dwayne Wade.” Radio personality Joel “Java” Murphy took it upon himself to campaign for LeBron’s name to be axed from the song. And axed it was:
“I was playing the song and realized that the word ‘Lebron’ is as offensive to some people as the ‘Seven Words You Can’t Say on the Radio. So, I suggested to our programming department that we should treat the name ‘LeBron’ similarly.”
Damn. LeBron is now in good company with c*nt, f*ck and several other gems. Congratulations douchebag.
