Fall Out Boy’s guitarist Joe Trohman has come to the defense of Ashlee Simpson after rumors began to circulate last week thay Fall Out Boy didn’t received a Grammy nomination because his girlfriend lip-synching.

Members of Fall Out Boy, who failed to get a Grammy nomination last week, are said to be blaming Pete Wentz’s relationship with Ashlee Simpson. “Grammy voters are fed up with Ashlee after she was caught lip-synching,” a pal tells OK! mag. “Her relationship with Pete has definitely affected public opinion of the band. The guys in FOB are furious — they think everything Ashlee touches is poison, and they really want her to stop touching Pete!”

Puhleez. Them boys didn’t get a nomination because their band sucks. Regardless of how big a tampon Ashlee may be, trust that the Grammy people don’t care.

FOB’s guitarist issued a statement via the band’s blog, saying:

I usually don’t respond to this, but this just irked me slightly. Know that first off, this is what we like to call complete tabloid bullshit. We don’t have any “pals” that gossip to the tabloids over our business. Those kind of folk are called douchebags, and we don’t fraternize with douchebags. We also don’t blame a certain someone for our lack of a Grammy nod. That’s absolutely fucking absurd. [...] Don’t believe the gossip columns out there. This “poisonous” person that was mentioned is nothing short of awesome, and we fully back her. Everything in Camp FOB is all good.

Yes, FOB does fraternize with douchebags, i.e. Pete Wentz. The guy irons his bangs for Pete’s sake.

And Ashlee Simpson is poison. She’s always so damn cheerful. The girl is like a goddamn Care Bear. I thought she was “emo”? Shouldn’t she be curled up in a corner crying somewhere? God, I hope she’s moshing again.
